Traditionally, filling the cup to 70% is considered ideal, symbolizing “70% tea, 30% affection.”
Warming the Teapot: • Before brewing the tea, pour hot water into the teapot to warm it up. •
Brewing: • Water temperature: The water temperature should be adjusted based on the type of tea and personal preference to bring out the best flavor. • Technique: Movements should be gentle and graceful while brewing, highlighting the elegance of tea artistry. These are not must-haves for beginners, but rather thoughtful additions to be discovered and collected over time.• Tea Caddy / Tea CanisterFunction: An airtight container designed to store tea leaves, shielding them from light, moisture, and unwanted odors to preserve their quality and flavor. It is a key tool in maintaining tea freshness. Materials: Common options include tin, ceramic, Yixing clay, metal, and wood. Choose a canister with a reliable seal.• Tea Cloth:Function: A clean, absorbent cloth used to wipe away spilled water on the tea table or to dry the bottom of cups and teapots, helping to maintain a tidy tea setting.• Selection: Use a dedicated tea cloth rather than a kitchen rag.
