On November 8, the New Zealand Institute of Tea Studies hosted a serene and culturally enriching Korean Tea Gathering, inviting guests into the gentle world of Korean tea tradition. The afternoon unfolded in an atmosphere of quiet elegance, where each movement in the brewing and serving process reflected the Korean philosophy of harmony, sincerity, and refined simplicity.
Participants were introduced to the distinctive character of Korean teas — clean in flavour, subtle in fragrance, and deeply calming in spirit. Through the sharing of tea etiquette, historical context, and stories rooted in monastic practice and daily life, guests gained a deeper appreciation for the quiet joy that Korean tea culture embodies.
