Under the Cherry Blossoms · The Fragrance of Tea and Friendship

“There are many regrets in life, but one must still hold on to their dreams.”Just like today’s tea gathering — between the wind and the blossoms, dreams found their gentle fragrance.
Tea as Courtesy · Dialogue with Nature; Tea as Reflection · Resonance with the Soul; Under the Cherry Blossoms · A Charity Tea Gathering.

A Public Tea Gathering Co-hosted by the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand and the New Zealand Tea Institute

Spring Light · The Scent of Tea
On 18 October 2025, amid the full bloom of cherry blossoms at One Tree Hill, Auckland, the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand and the New Zealand Tea Institute jointly hosted a public tea event themed “Tea as Courtesy · Dialogue with Nature; Tea as Reflection · Resonance with the Soul; Under the Cherry Blossoms · A Charity Tea Gathering.”
Bathed in warm spring sunlight and swaying petals, a cup of tea quietly bridged the distance between people and nature, between the city and culture.
Tea as a Medium · Goodness as the Heart
Guided by the philosophy of “Harmony in Diversity, Coexistence in Connection,” the charity tea gathering aimed to promote the beauty of Eastern aesthetics and sustainable living through tea culture, deepening cultural understanding and friendship between China and New Zealand.
Guests from government, business, education, and community groups, as well as tea culture enthusiasts, gathered beneath the blossoms to listen to the rhythm of spring in the aroma of tea.
A Gathering of Elegance · Harmony with Nature
The tea setting embraced a modern fusion of Chinese and Western aesthetics. The main tea table, crafted from natural New Zealand wood and paired with linen-toned utensils and seasonal flowers, reflected a sense of simplicity and balance.
The teas served — Fuding White Peony from Fujian and Gegge Red from Yunnan’s Bingdao region — were delicate as the spring breeze and mellow as time itself. As the fragrance lingered and petals drifted, time seemed to slow down.
Tea artists performed with poise and grace, accompanied by the soft tones of the guqin and the songs of nearby birds. Guests savoured the harmony between heaven, earth, and the human heart with each sip.
Fragrance of Tea · Acts of Kindness
SHENG XI Charitable Trust generously provided all teas and gifts. “Through a cup of tea, we hope to let kindness take root and culture nourish the soul,” said Ms Yan Junren, President of the Shanghai Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand.
Beneath the Blossoms · The Warmth of Humanity
Though the cherry blossoms fade, the fragrance of tea remains. This “Public Tea Gathering Under the Cherry Blossoms” was not only a springtime celebration of tea, but also a gentle dialogue between cultures and hearts. As petals floated upon the surface of the tea, that quiet warmth became a symbol of harmony between people, nature, and goodwill.
